Parker Rawlins

is a filmmaker, writer, actor, and professor who specializes in genre filmmaking and screenwriting.

His feature screenplay “THE CROSSING” was recently honored as a Second Rounder at the 2026 Austin Film Festival Script Competition in the Drama Feature category, placing in the top 25% of over 12,500 submission. His work has been screened at and awarded by festivals around the world including the Independent Film Awards, Film Fest Knox, HorrorFest International, Fullshot Film Festival, and DaveyFest.

Parker has a lifelong love for education, having experience teaching courses in directing, screenwriting, editing, film history, production, adaptation studies, and film theory. He is currently a full-time faculty member at Pellissippi State Community College in the Video Production Technology Program, as well as an adjunct professor at Utah Tech University, College of DuPage, and Southern Utah University.

His passion for film education was demonstrated in his role as the Faculty Program Director for the University of Utah Department of Film and Media Arts study abroad program in Italy. While there, he designed and executed a curriculum for a four-week Introduction to Film Production course, during which he guided nearly a dozen undergraduate students through the complete production process from the preliminary planning stages through to completed edits of their final films.

He earned his MFA in Film & Media Arts at the University of Utah where he studied screenwriting, directing, and film production. During his time there he and his directing partner, William Cowser (under the moniker The Aud Brothers), wrote, directed, and produced more than a dozen short films over the course of three years.

Parker also holds a B.S. in Theatre Arts with an emphasis in directing from Southern Utah University where he worked as an actor, director, and staff writer. He also performed research in collaboration with Dr. Kyle Bishop that was used to help create the BFA in Filmmaking program.
